For Christmas 1993 my wife bought me a small set of Pfeil carving chisels. Having foraged for and collected a number of pieces of hardwood over the preceding years, I was ready and raring to go as soon as Christmas breakfast was finished!

I carved a few pieces in my spare time during those early years. From carving in the round I tried my hand at relief carving. I didn't have any suitable pieces of hardwood for this so I had a go at carving MDF. The Disney characters on here were my early efforts. Then changes in my personal circumstances kerbed my carving activities for some time.

Following an interesting couple of decades, 2015 was a year of fate and opportunity. Fate in that I found my first big motorbike (that I'd sold in 2005) on Ebay and bought it for the 2nd time! In looking for storage for that bike I was presented with the opportunity to create a workshop for my carving.

I picked up where I left off with the MDF carving because it lent itself to painting without making me feel I was hiding the woods natural beauty. It allows me to bring vibrant colour to my sculpture and it's a technique that I think is unique at this moment. Having said that, I no longer carve MDF because I've found an even better product to use (one that is similar but less fluffy!) AND I've started using resin to bring amazing colours to my work in the round. Things are ever evolving!

Over the past few years I've been able to develop my ideas and my skill and so I've created this website in the hope that I can share my sculptures and maybe sell a few pieces ... who knows!?!

Thank you for your interest. I hope that some of my work makes you smile.
